FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police say a dozen students and their bus driver have suffered minor injuries in an accident, and another driver has been critically hurt.
Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, a police spokesman, says the incident occurred about 8:15 a.m. Monday in the 8300-block of Indian Head Highway. Rodriguez says the bus was on a service road that runs perpendicular to the highway when a mini-van crashed into the back portion of it. The van then crashed into a tree.
Rodriguez says the van driver was critically injured and flown to a hospital. Twelve students and the bus driver were being treated for minor injuries.
The bus was carrying students to Oxon Hill Middle School.
