EGG HARBOR TWP. – AtlantiCare’s Mobile Ambulance Bus has responded to a variety of calls since it was delivered in June.

Although housed in a typical warehouse, the mobile ambulance bus has gotten little rest.

With the Derecho, Hurricane Sandy and last weeks school bus accident on the Garden State Parkway, it has been showcasing its versatility.

There are 11 others similar to it in New Jersey, but this is sole one for the southern region.

We spoke with EMS personnel who told us it can transport up to 24 patients with varying degrees of injuries.

From cooling down fire fighters, to housing those with medical needs during sandy, AtlantiCare EMS says the bus has more than proved its worth since it went into service, and hopes to continue to find new uses for it.
