As emergency crews continue to sort through the devastation the storm in Oklahoma left behind, other first responders around the country are stepping up to the plate, including some here in North Dakota. Fargo-Moorhead Ambulance is standing by, waiting for the word from FEMA that their help is needed.

They say, they`ll send about 20 disaster relief experts, trailers of medical supplies and their ambulance bus.

“They like to really lean on that because if we have large hospitals to evacuate or just a large number of patients to transport in general, this by itself could transport 20 patients lying down, 8 wheel chair patients, so it can do a lot of moving pretty quick,” said Director of Operations Ken Krupich.

The bus is one of only 20 in the country, and does the work of six ambulances.
