New Orleans MAB Transports Injured after School Bus / Tractor Trailer Accident

“At 1600hr, EMSU-1 responded to a MVC with a 18 wheeler and a School bus. We had a total of 28 students on the school bus. 9 were transported to 2 separate hospitals with minor injuries by MAB and the others released to guardians. Neither of the drivers were transported.”

Eight school children were taken to a hospital Wednesday afternoon following a collision on Interstate 10 involving their school bus, New Orleans police said. The students had minor injuries, according to preliminary reports.

The wreck happened on the eastbound lanes of I-10 at Louisa Street. NOPD reported the wreck around 4:45 p.m. Police did not immediately say which school the children attend.

Police said the wreck is causing delays for eastbound traffic.
