NJ MAB Vehicles at the Bamboozle 2012 Concert

The NJEMSTF provided overall coverage and coordination of EMS assets at the three day “Bamboozle 2012” concert held in Asbury Park May 18-20 2012. There were over 85,000 attendees attending concerts that were headlined by Jon Bon Jovi, The Foo Fighters, Incubus, My Chemical Romance, DJ Skrillex and 60 other bands and performances. Over the course of the weekend, EMS provided assistance to more than 1,200 individuals, including treating 599 in their medical unit which was staffed by doctors, paramedics and EMT’s. A total of 74 required transport to local hospitals.

MAB-2 (Shark River Hills) provided primary coverage throughout the weekend serving in support of the event and was utilized to transport eight (8) patients to Monmouth Medical Center on Friday night when call volume spiked due to mosh pit activity and alcohol and drug use. MAB-6 was also deployed on Friday night after nearly 200 patients had been treated within 4 hours of the start of the concert.
