Prince George’s County Medical Ambulance Bus responds to Metro Derailment

“Yesterday afternoon, the Medical Ambulance Bus 830 from Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department responded to a reported Metro Train derailment. The train derailed shortly after leaving the West Hyattsville Station and had entered an underground section of the track. A total of 56 passengers were evacuated from the derailed train and removed via an evacuation stair. These patients were moved to the waiting medical ambulance bus and a transit bus operated by the Fire/EMS Department as a heat shelter. Only one patient was transported from the scene to an area hospital, the rest were shuttled to their destinations.”
