Sherman Ambus Transported From Nursing Home After Ceiling Collapse

DC 22 received an initial report of a nursing home evacuation necessitated by a ceiling collapse due to pipe damage in Collinsville, Grayson County 010614. The nursing home, Collinsville Care Center, is located at 501 N. Main in Collinsville. Population of the nursing home is 32 patients.

A temporary shelter has been established across the street from the center at Crossroads Church, 413 N. Main in Collinsville. Six (6) critical patients have been transported by ambulance (Texas Vital Care and Pilot Point Fire & Rescue) to an alternate care facility, Countryside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 1700 N. Washington, Pilot Point, TX.

Remaining patients are in the process of being moved to that same Center and also to Whitesboro Health & Rehab, 1204 Sherman Drive, Whitesboro, Texas, via the Sherman Fire Ambus and Texoma Area Paratransit System buses.
