Wake County (Raleigh NC) MAB bus used to triage 60 patients at daycare for a gas leak situation

“RALEIGH, N.C. —

About 40 people, including children and adults, are being examined by EMS as a precaution due to a minor gas leak.

Emergency crews say workers at Foundations Academy Center for Early Learning, located at 2823 Sanderford Road, called 911 around 9:30 a.m. Friday to report a gas leak.

An official with the Raleigh Fire Department says a natural gas stove was left on overnight. There was no mechanical damage. Daycare workers quickly ventilated the area and when first responders arrived, gas levels were “very low,” according to the fire official.

About 60 children and six adults were inside the day care center at the time. Only 40 people are being triaged as a precaution. No injuries have been reported and no one has been transported to the hospital.

The business is expected to reopen around 11:30 a.m. An area has been set-up for parents who wish to pick up their children once they’ve been examined.”
