Yonkers Unveils METU

YONKERS – Hundreds of runners from across the Hudson Valley and around the country pounded the pavement today at the annual Yonkers marathon. The race began at the Yonkers train station at 8 a.m. The race was pushed back by two weeks this year in hopes that cooler weather would make the event more pleasant for runners. Organizers say the Yonkers marathon is the second oldest annual marathon in the world. Yonkers Police along with Empress ambulance deployed there brand new state of the art METU Medical Ambulance unit at the event.
